Fatima Convent High School has been established by the Catholic Diocese of Jammu-Srinagar in April 1983 as a Christian Minority Educational Institution under the Indian Constitution and is recognized by the Government of Jammu-Kashmir and affiliated to Jammu-Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE). The Policy of Education in the schools run by the Diocese of Jammu-Srinagar Education Society is based on the life and teachings of Lord Jesus Christ. This policy encompasses the development of a growing consciousness of Human Dignity and Human Rights of every person. The school serves children regardless of caste, creed or circumstance to achieve their full potential and provides its staff members a pleasant and committed work culture and atmosphere. This enables a person to LIVE IN FELLOWSHIP AND MUTUAL HELPFULNESS. The policy has concern for all GOD'S PEOPLE within the local community where the school is situated especially for those of Christian faith and materially poor. Fatima is a co-educational school. The school focuses on the development of knowledge and skills enabling a student to BE A LOYAL CITIZEN. Fatima Convent High School, Bishnah is owned and established by the Diocese of Jammu-Srinagar (Catholic Church of Jammu and Kashmir) and administered by its subsidiary wing known as the Diocese of Jammu-Srinagar Education Society (DJSES, Reg. No. 1601-S of 1989) under the provisions of Article 30(1) of the Indian Constitution principally for the benefits of the Christians in addition to others without any distinction of caste and creed.
KINDLY NOTE THE FOLLOWING
1. Fill up all the particulars correctly in the identity certificate.
2. English being the language of instruction and communication, all the students must speak only in English. Parents are earnestly requested to assist their child in this regard.
3. Occasional remarks sent to you by the Principal/Vice-Principal/Coordinator/the Teachers, through this handbook should be studied carefully and responded promptly.
4. You can send your remarks or any other information to the Principal/Vice Principal/Coordinator or the teachers through this handbook.
5. Lack of attention to your child from any concerned teacher should be communicated to the Coordinator/Vice Principal/Principal in due time.
6. Check your child's handbook daily and find out what assignments have been given by the teachers and what comments have been passed on by the authorities.
7. See that the child does his/her homework daily with neatness. Teach your child to maintain his/her textbooks and notebooks. Ensure that your child brings textbooks and notebooks as per the day's timetable.
8. Class Tests (CT) will be conducted by the concerned subject teacher once a week. The subject teacher will inform the students about the date and time of the class test and maintain the record of the same.
9. Make sure that your child reaches the school on time and is in full, neat and smart uniform. Gates of school will be closed after the bell for morning assembly.
10. Do not allow your child to carry valuable articles, extra money and irrelevant materials to the school.
11. Home-cooked food should be given in tiffin. Use green vegetables and pulses in food. Ensure a healthy and balanced diet for your child.
12. Attend Parent-Teacher Meeting whenever informed.
13. Pay the school fees on time without fail and avoid late fee.
14. Parents are NOT permitted to enter the classrooms to meet their children during school hours.
Every child has a personal curriculum according to their skills, needs and interests. The personal learning plan is made in cooperation with the parents. Regular meetings with the parents enable good educational partnership. Our aim is that every pupil can achieve his personal best and find his place in the world.

Disasters in India bring great misfortune and calamity as there is lack of awareness among the people in general. Disasters disrupt normal life and have a great impact on social structure. Creating disaster awareness among our students and staff has been of great importance to us. Therefore, the first step in this direction is to ensure their safety. We conduct regular emergency evacuation drills for the safety of our students. Mentioned below are some of the steps that need to be taken when a student or staff member hears the emergency siren.
